Meet The presenters:

Dr. Richard Moniz has worked in libraries for more than 30 years. He has been the Director of Library Services at Horry-Georgetown Technical College since 2018. He was previously the Director of Library Services for Johnson & Wales University's North Miami and Charlotte campuses (1997 – 2004, 2004-2018). He has also, simultaneously, been an adjunct instructor for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's MLIS program since 2007. He has published numerous articles, is sole author of the textbook Practical and Effective Management of Libraries (2010), co-author of Fundamentals for the Academic Liaison (2014), co-author and co-editor of The Personal Librarian: Enhancing the Student Experience (2014), co-author of The Mindful Librarian (2016), co-author of Librarians and Instructional Designers: Innovation and Collaboration (2016), co-author of The Dysfunctional Library: Challenges and Solutions to Workplace Relationships (2017), co-editor of Recipes for Mindfulness in Your Library (2019), and co-author of Cultivating Civility: Practical Ways to Improve a Dysfunctional Library (2020). In addition to serving on other non-profit boards, he has served as chair of the Library Leadership & Management Association’s Continuing Education Committee (2009/2010), been twice president of Metrolina Library Association (2007 & 2015) and was the 2022/2023 chair of PASCAL's (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries) board of directors.

Jo Henry is a Reference and Instruction Librarian at Horry-Georgetown Technical College in South Carolina. Previously, she was a public librarian with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and an Information Services Librarian at South Piedmont Community College. She obtained a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia Southern University. Henry has published in Journal of Library Administration, College & Research Libraries News, Community & Junior College Libraries, Public Services Quarterly, and Library Review, and has presented at the ALA Annual Conference, North Carolina Library Association Conference, Southeast Collaborative Online Conference, South Carolina Library Association-Southeastern Library Association Conference, and Metrolina Library Conference.  She is co-author of Cultivating Civility: Practical Ways to Improve a Dysfunctional Library (2020), The Dysfunctional Library: Challenges and Solutions to Workplace Relationships (2018), The Mindful Librarian: Connecting the Practice of Mindfulness to Librarianship (2016), Fundamentals for the Academic Liaison (2014), and The Personal Librarian: Enhancing the Student Experience (2014).
