1) Where are you from originally? Sylvania, Georgia — A small farm town in southeast Georgia.

2) What do you value about being an MLA member? The ability to meet other librarians in the Charlotte metro area.

3) Describe yourself in three words. Collaborative, supportive, team player

4) What’s something you’d still love to learn? Learn to play the piano.

5) Where did you get your MLIS? Atlanta University, also known as Clark Atlanta University.

6) What was your first library job? I worked as a circulation assistant in the graduate library at Atlanta University.

7) How is librarianship different now than when you started? When I started library school, there were not computers.

8) Do you collect anything? Coretta Scott King Book Award winners.

9) What’s your favorite quote? “Be brave enough to suck at something new!”

10) What’s the most exciting thing you have planned this year? Glamping with my two grandsons.
