Atkins Library at UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for our Atkins Fellows summer program. Applications submitted by Tuesday, February 21 will receive first consideration. These fellowships are designed to give LIS students hands-on experience in an academic library.

The Atkins Fellows program is an eleven-week summer residential fellowship for students at the mid-point of their Library, Archives, or Information Science degree program. It is designed to provide each Fellow who participates with a work experience that is focused on professional-level tasks, with high level of independence and creativity, while also supporting Atkins Library's mission, goals, and initiatives.  The six projects proposed for 2017 are in the areas of Public Services, Assessment and Analytics, Digital Image Processing, Technology Services, Born-Digital University Records, and Electronic Resource Management. Participants in this program will receive a $6,000 stipend, paid at an hourly rate ($13.64/hour, for eleven weeks of forty hours per week).
